5.  154(134) vs New Zealand, Chandigarh, 2016

New Zealand tour of India, 3rd day night match of the five matches ODI Series, India opt to field first. New Zealand team start well but continuously wickets losing and all on 285.

In Chase, Indian openers lose their wicket quickly and burden comes on middle order-batsman. But Kohli on crease and absorb all burden with Indian captain MS Dhoni(80) with the partnership of 151 runs. He hits 16 fours and one huge six with the strike rate 114 in his innings. India won the match by 7 wickets with 10 balls remaining.


4.  183(148) vs Pakistan, Dhaka, 2012

Asia Cup, Match 5th, India Vs Pakistan, this is the high pressure game and Pakistan dominate the match from the starting when his openers Md. Hafeez(105) and N Jamshed(112) plays a good knock and that’s why Pakistan made a huge total of 329 runs on broad.

While chasing India also need a solid start but Indian opener G Gambhir lose their wicket on 2 ball of the innings but then Kohli comes on the crease and make a partnership with SR Tendulkar(52) of 133 runs then partnership with R Sharma(68) of 172 runs and Kohli played his one of the bestest innings in this match. In this huge century Kohli makes a difference and team won the match by 6 wickets with 13 balls remaining.


3.  133*(86) vs Sri Lanka, Hobart, 2012

Commonwealth Bank Tri-Series, 11th Match, India Vs Sri Lanka, India was required to win the match with a bonus point to have any  chance to reach the Finals of the Commonwealth Bank Tri-Series. For this India wants to won the match within 40 overs. T Dilshan(160) and K Sangakkara(105) had played very well so the Sri Lanka team made 320 in 50 overs.

In Chase, India was on 86/2 when Kohli comes out to bat but the target is still very far to achieve. So partnership with G Gambhir(63) and Virat Kohli is the turning point of the match. This innings is the best innings of his career till now and this match is also rememberable for cricket world for treatment of L Malinga by Kohli specially in 36th over of Indian innings. India achieve his target in 36.4 overs with the outstanding innings played by Kohli. Kohli hits 16 fours and 2 massive sixes to L Malinga with the strike rate of 154.65. But Unfortunately, India couldn’t make it to the Finals anyway.


2.  138(140) vs South Africa, Chennai, 2015

South Africa tour of India, 4th ODI of the series, India elect to bat first, India start bad his both opener lost their wicket quickly then Kohli and rahane make a good partnership and then with Raina. The climate of Chepauk Stadium of Chennai is very hot and had cramps but Kohli plays a superb innings after had many cramps. The stadium is big so batsman wants more single or double than boundaries. In Chase, AB de Villiers(112) plays well for his team but it’s not enough. So, Indian team won the match by 35 runs and Kohli won the man of the award for his outstanding innings.


1.  118(121) vs Australia, Visakhapatnam, 2010

Australia tour of India, 2nd Day night match of the 3 match series, India elect to field first. Australia start was that bad his both opener goes to pavilion on the score of 16/2. Then M Clerk(116) and MK Hussey(69) played very beautifully then a pace innings by C White(89) give Australia a safe position.

In Chase, India opener and the debutant S Dhawan out on the second ball of the innings. Kohli make a partnership with Yuvraj and Raina to lead the victory. Kohli hits 11 fours and a massive six. India won the match by 5 wickets with 7 balls remaining.
